Victoria's Christmas Choir concert - Dec 13th

For Christmas Victoria wanted to get a perm for her hair to have curls like Taylor Swift.  She loves her new look.  She gets complements on her red hair and now it is curly she gets even more.  She does have beautiful locks.
The Treble choir sang three songs.  They sounded great and they have a great choir program.  The whole concert was 2 hrs way too long.  Especially for Ty.  He was done after about a 1/2 hour.

Savanna's Choir Madgical Dinner Dec 10th - 11th

This is Savanna's 2nd year to participate in a fabulous event that the choir director puts on.  They (the parent volunteers) transform the cafeteria into a Medival castle and perform a dinner theatre with the choir singing multiple numbers.  They serve dinner and dessert along with the play and music.  It is a pretty great event.  All the kids rent or make medival costumes.  This year I was on the choir board volunteer chair so I was in charge of flowers and desserts and getting volunteers to help make the event a success.

The King and Queens plush thrones.
 Flowers anyone?

Someone has been bad this year:(
Family cheering her on to victory.
 Gotta love them Mormons!
Another successful show!!!

Victoria Band concert-Dec 7th

Victoria at her middle school band Christmas Concert.  They sounded great.  She plays the oboe.
You can see the top of Victoria's red head right in the middle of this picture.  They perform on the stage at the high school auditorium and they are all at the same level and you can't see your child perform.
Here's a picture of the whole band.  There are 7th and 8th graders.

Savanna gets her Driver's License - Nov 16th

Guess who got her driver's license.  Watch out Texas Drivers Savanna is on the rode.  She is a really good driver.  Her mother was a good teacher.  She took Drivers ed through the school, but most of her drive time was with mom.

Mall of America

For Savanna's 16th Birthday on Nov 12th she got to choose a party or a trip anywhere in the continental US.  She chose the Mall of America in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Savanna was in her element with clothes, shoes, frozen yorgurt, ice cream, movies, rides and lots of food.  Every girls dream.  We arrived Friday morning, shopped all day, saw a movie then did it all over on Sat.  Sunday we recooperated and flew home.
This is the largest Mall in the United States.  It had over 600 stores, an amusement park, mini golf, movie theatres, and lots of restaurants.
Enjoying lunch overlooking the amusement park.
We rode all the rides in just 3 hours.  There were some pretty good roller coasters.
We went to Tony Roma's for ribs.  They bought her a mini red velvet cake.

Savanna modeling one of her new outfits.
Savanna and her loot.  Good thing we packed light.
Saturday morning we woke up to 6 inches of snow.  Welcome to Minnesota winter.  Good thing we only had to go outside to hop on the shuttle to the mall then walk into the mall from the shuttle.
It had 3 levels of pure shopping bliss.

Oboe Phenomenon

Victoria has excelled at playing the oboe and made concert band at Briarhill Middle School. They were able to play at the 8th grade football at our brand new Marcus Marauder Stadium! We are extremely proud of her.
The band sounded great.  It is amazing that most of these 7th and 8th graders have only been playing their instruments for a year.  Victoria has become quite the musician and is teaching herself to play the saxaphone as well.  She is preparing to play in the marching band in high school at Marcus and the oboe is one of the instruments that doesn't march.  So she will play the sax in marching band and the oboe for concert band.

Savanna's Durufle Concert

Savanna before she preformed her Durufle Requiem concert with the combined Marcus and Flower Mound High School's varsity mixed choirs. These two high school choirs combined and had a guest director from Baylor University direct the choir.  There was a small orchestra consisting of violins, viola, cello, bass, timpani, trumpets, harp and an organ.  We are so proud of her making it into varsity mixed choir as a sophmore! She has a natural gift that we are so blessed to be a part of.
The combined choral groups making beautiful music together. The concert was fabulous and they sounded as good if not better then the professionals! look out Mormon Tabernacle Choir!
You can see Savanna right in the middle below the random music stand.  What a neat experience for these kids.
